Each day of the Marko Panić Handball Camp is filled with intensive training sessions, individual work on handball techniques, tactical strategies, conditioning, and lectures on officiating, proper nutrition, and personal development.

The training sessions are tailored to the age and needs of the participants, aiming for their optimal progress. Education on a healthy lifestyle is essential for achieving top sports performance.

Every year, Jajce becomes the center of handball events in Bosnia and Herzegovina in mid-July, when the prestigious Handball Camp Marko Panić takes place. This six-day camp, named after the celebrated handball player Marko Panić, a player for Polish club Wisla Plock and a Bosnian national team member, brings together young handball players from across Europe, offering them an unforgettable experience of training, learning, and bonding in the beautiful setting of the Pliva Lakes.

The camp hosts over 80 talented participants aged 12 to 20, including athletes from handball powerhouses like Norway, Sweden, Germany, France, Italy, Poland, Belarus, and Croatia, as well as local young talents. All participants enjoy training in an environment synonymous with natural beauty and inspiration, in the heart of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

At the Handball Camp Marko Panić, young athletes have the opportunity to train with top handball players and coaches, including well-known figures such as Edin Bašić, former Bosnian national team player; Petar Jokanović, former Bosnian national team goalkeeper and current goalkeeper for the Icelandic champion; and Stanko Sabljić, Alen Poričanin, and Salima Bakhsha, experienced handball professionals.

Special attention is also given to educating young players about the rules of the game and handball officiating. Dalibor Jurinović, a long-standing referee with the European Handball Federation (EHF), shares his extensive experience in international refereeing. Through interactive sessions, Jurinović helps players better understand the game’s rules, the importance of officiating, and making quick and accurate decisions on the court. This education not only enhances their knowledge of handball but also equips them to better understand the game’s dynamics from the perspective of a referee.

The camp is not just an opportunity for intensive training but also for making new friendships and enjoying the handball atmosphere. Besides learning from the best, young handball players draw inspiration from encounters with handball legends and stars, such as French national team player and Olympic champion Hugo Descat, European champion Stas Skube, and the Karačić brothers – Igor and Ivan.

In addition to sports activities, participants enjoy the natural and historical beauty of Jajce, with opportunities for swimming, boat rides, and other fun activities, which further enrich their stay.
